The purpose of HAVEN is to establish and provide programs for horses in need, to give them the best chance at finding a loving, caring and permanent home.
The objectives of HAVEN are to:
a. Provide shelter, proper food, daily care, veterinary care, farrier care, evaluation, rehabilitation, adoption and foster services for horses in need in our community.
b. Provide an alternative to auctions by providing care to equines merely in need of a new adoptive family.
c. Obtain legal ownership of donated horses accepted into our program therefore HAVEN can ensure a lifelong commitment to the horse’s well being.
d. Create programs that will offer our community the opportunity to celebrate the gifts of the horse through “hands on” learning.
e. Establish an alliance with local groups to support their equine activities with emphasis on activities involving youth and young adults.
f. Establish an alliance with local animal control agencies, humane societies, and law enforcement to provide shelter and care to equines that are legally impounded to relieve the burden of care from these agencies.
